BFFI 2014

The BFFI have kindly agreed to give you a £1.00 discount off tickets bought at the door ONLY on presentation of a valid FDG membership card.

PLEASE do not embarrass the FDG or yourself by asking for the discount if you are unable to present a valid FDG membership card on the day.

Glasgow Angling Centre (

Every purchase made by a member can be assigned to a branch of their choice and a rebate of 10% of the total spend (excluding some electronics, clearance and combo items) can be claimed by the branch to use for club equipment, prizes and giveaways.

Glasgow Angling already use this system successfully for a large number of clubs who claim back £1000s worth of gear every year and this is a way of supporting your FDG branch as a whole.  Members shopping instore just need to tell the cashier which branch they want to nominate before they pay for their goods at the tills.  For online orders, members just need to put a note into the comments box before they complete the checkout on the Glasgow Angling website.

For those members who don’t have a local branch they would like to nominate, Glasgow Angling will waive the joining fee for their popular Reward Card scheme, and members can start earning points on all future purchases that can be redeemed at a later date. To get a free card they will just have to show their membership card instore or quote their membership number in the comments box when they place an order online.

Furled leaders by Jack Wilson
Some of you will have seen Jack Wilson, from the Dee & Clywd Branch of the FDG, making furled leaders at the FDG stand at the 2012 BFFI.  He has also shared two articles with us, on how to make the jigs and furled leaders for pike and tenkara fishing (see "Other Articles" page).

Jack has generously offered to supply his stillwater, river, pike and tenkara furled leaders to Guild members through Branch Secretaries at trade prices. He is not geared up to supply individuals, but is happy to take bulk orders from Branch Secretaries.

If you are interested, please get in touch with Jack Wilson on

Alternatively, Jack's leaders are available from Meadow Fishery(at full price).
